KARACHI: Pakistan’s 15-year-old national champion Sohaib Sanaullah on Sunday finished second on the opening day of the Junior World Scrabble Championship in Nottingham, England.Sohaib is behind Matthew O’Connor of USA, the tournament favorite, with six wins and a spread of 251. Matthew won all of his seven matches to top the event’s chart.
Sohaib is followed by three more Pakistanis, Abdullah Abbasi, Imaad Ali and Ahmed Salik.Former world youth champion Moiz Baig was lucky enough to make it to the championship after his flight got delayed. —PPI
