Gate at Pak-Iran border constructed, says Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal informed the National Assembly (NA) on Friday that a gate had been constructed at the border with Iran while barbed wire was being laid on both sides of the road for 126 kilometers.

According to a private news channel, the House was also informed that no suggestion was under consideration for the closure of Pak-Afghan border but 50 new Frontier Corps posts had been constructed to keep a check on the movements of the terrorists.

During last five years, 298 Indian nationals were granted Pakistani nationality, a report submitted by Interior Ministry in the National Assembly said. The details over granting nationality to Indians were provided, when a question was raised during the Question Hour of the Assembly session.

Responding to the question, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also informed the House that in 2012 Pakistani nationality was granted to 48 Indians; in 2013 75 Indians were granted Pakistan nationality; while the most Indians were nationalised in the year 2014. The interior minister told NA that 15 Indians were given nationality in 2015, 69 in 2016, while 15 in last eight months of 2017.
