Heavy rain triggers landslide, buries Talhad village

HARIPUR: At least six people were rescued by locals at village Talhad of Union Council Sari Namat Khan where landslide triggered by the heavy rains buried the whole village.

Locals said that due to heavy rain at midnight, a boulder fell from the hill on an empty house and destroyed it completely followed by a landslide that buried all houses in village Talhad. However hundreds of villagers remained unhurt after they heard the loud noise of boulder and came out of their houses.

The villagers rescued those who couldn't manage to come out from house and were stuck under the landslide. Locals told the media that all houses in the village were buried under several feet pile of rocks and mud that left hundreds of residents of the village homeless.

Residents of Talhad village demanded of the KP government to provide them shelter and other emergency facilities till they are relocated.
