Power projects

The recent announcement made by KE with regard to setting up a 900 MW power plant seems like a dream come true for residents of Karachi. The city’s growing electricity demand along with unplanned and scattered development means that newer and more efficient power projects are the need of the hour. KE’s announcement for adding 900 MW in the national grid is a beacon of hope especially for residential users. Industrial zones reportedly face zero loadshedding and it is the common man who bears the brunt of hours-long loadshedding. For instance, my area of residence, Gulistan-e-Johar, frequently faces interruptions in power supply. With the additional MW coming in the next two years, it can be hoped that the problem of loadshedding will be dealt with in an efficient manner.

ince KE has always met with intense criticism, it is equally important to commend the organisation for steps it is taking for the betterment of the people. The addition of 900 MW in the grid will make a significant difference in minimising loadshedding around the city.
