- Detroit (starring John Boyega, Will Poulter, Algee Smith, Jacob Latimore) - crime drama; based on the 1967 Algiers Motel incident during racially charged riots that involves the death of three black men and the beatings of nine other people.
- Kidnap (starring Halle Berry, Sage Correa, Lew Temple, Chris McGinn) - action; a mother (Berry) tries to rescue her abducted son (Correa) from kidnappers.

Dylan Thomas Sprouse and Cole Mitchell Sprouse
- Born on 4th August 1992 in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy
- Are identical twins; Dylan is 15 minutes older than Cole.
- Started acting at the age of eight months, often playing the same roles and switching on-screen time due to child labour laws.
- Made their TV debut with a shared regular role in Grace Under Fire (1993 - 1998) and film debut in Big Daddy (1999).
- Gained recognition after being cast as the titular twins in Disney Channel’s sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005 - 2008) and its sequel The Suite Life on Deck (2008-11). The massive popularity of the shows made them the highest-paid teenage Disney television actors and the richest teenage twins in the world.
- Took a break from acting after being accepted to New York University; attended the university from 2011 to 2015 before resuming acting.
- Have also appeared separately in some projects; most prominently, Cole portrayed Ross Geller’s son on Friends (2000 - 2002) and currently stars as Jughead Jones in Riverdale (2017 - present).

- Premise shares similarities to the fifth film in the original series, Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973), but it is not a direct remake of that movie.
- Had a budget of $150 million; has made around $225 million in less than three weeks.
- Has received critical acclaim; the performance by Serkis, in particular, has been praised, along with the film’s direction, visual effects, and storyline.
- Andy Serkis, Terry Notary, and Karin Konoval - all of whom portray apes - are the only actors to be in all three instalments of this trilogy so far.
