Tribunal adjourns spot-fixing proceedings till June 14
LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board’s Anti-Corruption Tribunal on Tuesday approved the request of Khalid Latif, suspended over spot-fixing charges, to adjourn the proceedings till June 14.
The tribunal was expected to take a decision on Khalid’s case but after thorough deliberation it has given the cricketer another chance to defend himself.
According to a PCB statement, the Anti-Corruption Tribunal held detailed deliberations regarding the request and allowed his counsel to make final arguments.
Earlier this month, Khalid had boycotted the PCB’s anti-corruption tribunal. The cricketer had refused to appear before the tribunal following a tiff with the PCB’s legal counsel.
Badar Alam, Khalid’s lawyer, said that he had reservations about the tribunal’s head, Justice (retd) Asghar Haider.
