Were we the only ones wondering what Queen Elizabeth II thought of the popular series, The Crown? After all, the show is mapping her life from the 1940s to modern times and is touching upon some rather sensitive matters.

For instance, the show talks about the early days of her reign, her relationship with Prince Philip, and her younger sister, Princess Margaret’s affair.

However, a close source to the Queen informed the Daily Express that she is enjoying the show which was recommended to her by her son, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie.

“It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor at the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film,” the source said. “They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them. Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatized.”

Other royals have also shown appreciation for The Crown. Princess Eugenie, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, also likes the show. She recently said at a party, “The music is wonderful; the story is beautiful and you feel very proud to watch it.”
