- Fantasy epic; after pulling the magical sword from the stone, Arthur (Hunnam) must acknowledge his true royal legacy and defeat the tyrant Vortigern (Law).
- Loosely based on King Arthur legends.
- Had a budget of $175 million; has made nearly $95 million in around two weeks.
- Has received generally negative reviews from critics, who found issues with the film’s pacing and deviation from traditional Arthurian myths.
- Went through several developmental stages. At one point, Kit Harington was set to portray King Arthur and Joel Kinnaman was cast as Lancelot before the project was revamped.

- Is the intended first instalment of a planned six-film series, although the future of the franchise remains uncertain because of the film’s high budget and low earnings.
