Aamir Khan-starrer Thugs of Hindustan has been in the works for quite some time now however the cast of the film wasn’t finalized until recently. Earlier it was reported that Fatima Sana Shaikh, who played Khan’s daughter in Dangal, will essay a pivotal role in the film. And the latest news surrounding the casting of Thugs of Hindustan suggests that Katrina Kaif has been roped in to play the lead.
According to Pinkvilla, “The movie has two important female roles and Katrina has accepted the offer.”
Khan and Kaif earlier worked together in Dhoom 3 and it is said that Salman Khan recommended her for the role. Apart from this, it is also being said that producer Aditya Chopra liked Aamir and Katrina’s chemistry in the third installment of Dhoom franchise.
Aside from Khan, Kaif and Shaikh, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. Touted as one of the most expensive Bollywood productions, Thugs of Hindustan is expected to release on Diwali next year.
Produced under Yash Raj Fillms, Thugs of Hindustan is said to be an adaptation of popular novel Confessions of a Thug. The film will go on floors in the coming months.
