Arrested Indian fishermen sent on judicial remand

The 29 Indian fishermen arrested by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency a day earlier were sent on judicial remand on Friday. The judicial magistrate for District South also directed the investigation officer (IO) to submit a charge sheet within two days. The PMSA had arrested 29 Indian fishermen and seized five boats for violating marine boundaries on Thursday. According to a PMSA spokesperson, the fishermen had violated Pakistan’s maritime boundaries. The detained fishermen were handed over to the Docks police station. Last month, on March 26, nearly 100 Indian fishermen were taken into custody for illegally fishing in Pakistan’s boundaries. In addition 19 boats were also held during the MSA’s raid.

One dead in road crash

A 27-year-old man was killed in a road accident in the city’s North Nazimabad area on Friday. Officials said the victim, Nazeer Ahmed, was struck by a speeding vehicle
near UP Morr, North Nazimabad. He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to the ASH for an autopsy.
