French cuisine is famous all over the world for dishes that are unique in both presentation and taste. It reflects a long tradition of treating food and cooking as a fine art. And it was surely a treat when we got the invitation of French Food Festival from the management of Avari Towers Hotel, Karachi.

The management of the hotel is known for arranging food festivals from around the globe and this time around too, the festival, which is on till the 2nd of April, 2017, is aimed at bringing people together to enjoy fine dining. The French Consul General, His Excellency Francois Dall’Orso, and Honorary Consul General of Finland, Mr. Erik Huyer, General Manager and Mr. Emmanuel Riggi, Food Beverage Manager of Avari Towers Hotel, opened the festival.

The entire restaurant has been decorated with the French flag and posters of famous places in France. Not only this, the salad bar and dessert table have been adorned by famous monuments such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile.

Coming to the authentic French food being served there! It starts off with the ‘Traditional French Onion Soup’ or ‘Lobster Bisque Soup’. The salad buffet offers some mouth watering delicacies including ‘Spinach Quiche’, ‘Salad Lyonnaise’, ‘Vegetable Pie’, ‘Tomato Tart with fresh tuna and poppy seeds’, ‘Artichauts Bariguole’ and many more. There is also an assorted selection of French cheese and Crepe Suzette live station.

This festival is a little different from the previous fests as it doesn’t have a buffet for the main course. One has to order from the A La Carte menu that offers seafood, beef, lamb and chicken dishes. The main meal includes: ‘Beef Steak Diane with Mushroom Sauce’, ‘Grilled Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce’, ‘Chicken in French Sauce with onions and mushrooms’, ‘Roasted Buck Breast with Saffron Risotto’ etc. Now moving to the sweets, it is buffet and there are oh-so-many divine desserts such as, ‘French Bread Pudding’, ‘Apple Tartin’, ‘Fruit Trifle’ and some chocolate delights among many others.

Tempted yet? There are a few more days till the festival ends. So, go ahead and enjoy authentic French food. Bon Appetite!
