RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Tuesday the Operation Raddul Fasaad was the continuation of the previous operation.

He was addressing a two-day Pak-UK seminar on “Sharing Experiences in Stabilization and Peace Efforts” held at the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.

Gen Bajwa said the operation was aimed at utilising the success of the previous military operation, Zarb-e-Azb, to bring lasting peace, stability and normalcy to the country.He highlighted the endeavours of Pakistan against the forces of disorder and terror over the last many years.

Gen Bajwa highlighted the military campaign that commenced in 2007-08 and had now evolved into Operation Raddul Fasaad.The event is part of the ongoing consultative process between the security practitioners of the two countries. The British delegation is being led by Lieutenant General Patrick Sanders.

Earlier, Lt Gen Patrick Sanders commended the sacrifices of the people of Pakistan and the army in the fight against terrorism, making not only Pakistan but also the world a safer place.The audience comprised dignitaries from the British High Commission, ex-ambassadors, senior serving and retired officers and participants from various think tanks and universities.
