LAHORE: FIA has presented the initial report about the spot-fixing in Pakistan Super League to the Interior Minister and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has broadened the scope of its investigation, including more players.

Sources said the responsibility would be fixed after forensic examination of the information provided by the PCB and other available evidence.

The Interior Minister has directed FIA to continue impartial investigation without any pressure and complete it at the earliest.

The PCB has summoned two more cricketers to appear before its anti-corruption unit next week.

The sources confirmed that fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and batsman Shahzaib Hassan have been called for questioning on Monday and Tuesday.

“They have been summoned for questioning about their alleged contacts with fixers,” said a PCB source.

Both the cricketers were questioned in the UAE during the second edition of the PSL, along with Zulfiqar Babar. However, they were not immediately charged and were allowed to continue playing.

The PCB had confiscated their cell phones and they’re still in the ACU custody.

Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan were provisionally suspended by the PCB for their alleged links with an international syndicate that attempted to corrupt the PSL.
