The government of Punjab has spent Rs29.8 billion for the metro bus service from Shahdara to Gajjumata under the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and $2.4 billion for the Orange Line train from Ali Town to Dera Gujjran. The latter project will be completed in 2019 and consist of two underground stations. Wealth has been spent within Lahore to improve the transport service. Roads have been destroyed and then reconstructed. The government also started double-decker service to attract foreigners.
While these are viable initiatives, the government has ignored main bus terminals. An area where all the main bus terminals are situated does not receive much attention from government. More often than not, there is no bridge at that road or between these terminals. As a result, students, employees and passengers have to face considerable traffic gridlocks and other inconveniences when they travel on buses.
