It was reported earlier that veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui, who’s essaying the role of a hit-man in ongoing drama serial Sammi, will be visiting India to complete the shooting for his Bollywood debut, Mom. However, according to latest reports, there has been a change in the state of affairs, considering the crucial situation between Pakistan and India.

“I’ll be going to Bangkok on the 6th of March to shoot the last spell of Mom,” Siddiqui confirmed in a conversation with Instep.

“It was supposed to be held in India initially but given the circumstances and ongoing rift between the two countries, they have decided to shoot in Bangkok. I think the news of two Pakistani actors visiting India wasn’t received too well there which is why they decided to change the location perhaps.”

The actor recently returned from Rahim Yar Khan where he was shooting for his play, Sammi, for which he has been receiving positive reviews. Initially portrayed as a villain, his character has a lot of layers that are coming to the fore with every new episode.

Coming back to his Bollywood film, Mom, Siddiqui will star as Sridevi’s husband while our very own Sajal Aly will be playing the role of her daughter in the film. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna, who’ll be back on the silver screen after a long gap.

Siddiqui also informed that Aly has left for Bangkok to shoot for her part and that the release date of the film has been announced.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom is said to be a mother-daughter drama that will release on May 12, 2017, closer to Mothers’ Day.
