Having made a strong impression on the small screen with a diverse set of roles for the last 25 years, veteran actor Noman Ijaz continues to spread his charm even in this age. Starring as a politician, Khan, in new drama serial Khan, the actor once again proves that he has incredible range.
Speaking to Instep in a recent interview, Ijaz reflected on films that are being made in Pakistan these days. “The difference between Hindi cinema and the local film industry is that they add drama in their films and we are trying to insert films in our dramas,” he told Instep.
When asked if he plans to work in films anytime soon, the actor responded that he is not interested in working for commercial cinema.
“I’m very happy with my small screen. I don’t need to work in films but it all depends. If something solid comes up and somebody sensible is making it then I might do it. I would like to work with any director who really knows my potential and what kind of an actor I am. I don’t think any of them who are making films have the potential to do so.”
However, he informed that he will appear in a film, titled Maidaan, but that’s not commercial cinema. The film is based on a true incident and there’s a long way to go before it comes out.
