Deepika Padukone is all set to make her Hollywood film debut this year with Vin Diesel-starrer xXx: Return of Xander Cage. The actress recently announced that the film will release in India on January 14, 2017, before anywhere else in the world. While the film’s promotions will start soon, the action packed trailer is out with a special focus on Padukone (tailor made for the Indian audience in four languages - Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu), featuring her in a never seen before daredevil avatar.
Playing the role of a huntress, called Serena Unger, Padukone informed that she is nervous as well as excited for her debut in Hollywood. Before leaving for the film’s promotions abroad, the actress shared, “I am very nervous, but I am also very excited. This is my Hollywood debut. And today is the beginning to that journey. Hopefully, we will be coming to India soon.”
Sharing her schedule for the promotions, the actress noted that they will begin the proceedings from Mexico however the release is scheduled for India first.
“I feel very proud that I get to represent my country, especially in this kind of action franchise of the film,” Padukone stated. “I am really excited. I am also very sure we will enjoy this film because of its content. There is a lot of action, adventure in the film, which we have not seen in Indian films before. So, I can’t wait to bring this movie to India and show it to everyone,” she concluded.
