‘PPP adopted policy of reconciliation for democracy but now there

is a dispute with PML-N’

KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information Maula Bakhsh Chandio said on Saturday that his party had adopted the policy of reconciliation for the sake of democracy but now it had a dispute with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz at the Centre.

Speaking to the media here, Chandio slammed the PML-N, labelling it as the party of dumb people who could not see beyond their prestige. "We now have a dispute with them and they will have to go."

He also criticised the prime minister saying that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif lacks the courage to inquire from Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan regarding issues.

The premier stopped Nisar but the minister clearly refused to obey him saying he would hold a press conference. The provincial adviser referred to a fiery presser held by the interior minister last week in which he had slammed the opponents besides challenging the Quetta carnage report.

"What would the PM say to such a Dabbang (dauntless) minister," he questioned.

Commenting on the return of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Chandio said it was natural for some quarters to be irked and some to be perplexed upon Zardari's return. He said when the PPP co-chairman will visit Islamabad, contacts will be made with all the political parties.

Chandio said the PML-N was the party of narrow-minded folks and there could be no rapprochement with them. He also warned that the PML-N had to go now.

Maula Bakhsh Chandio revealed that his party was not on good terms with the PML-N for the sake of reconciliatory politics.

Adviser to CM Sindh commented that the statement of Asif Zardari had done the damage and annoyance and anger upon his arrival was a natural phenomenon. He also said that his party took sides with democracy at the time of Imran Khan's march during PML-N's tenure.

Maula Bakhsh Chandio claimed that restoring the Constitution in its original form was an achievement of Zardari's tenure as the President.

He claimed that upon Bilawal's announcement about Zardari's return, the federal ministers got upset all of a sudden. The adviser further revealed that the explanations after the Friday's operations put a halt to the matter. Achievements in Karachi became possible because of peace, claimed Chandio. --Agencies

News Desk adds: In a statement, Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Maula Bux Chandio, has said that we should seek guidance from the lifestyle and upright character of our founding father Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and transform Pakistan into a model state with prevalence of peace, brotherhood, moderation, patience and protection to minorities’ rights. For achieving such an objective, the nation has to struggle collectively against extremism, intolerance, sectarianism and all kinds of prejudices. He said this in a message on the birthday of our beloved founding father Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said today the nation is celebrating the birthday of the Quaid, who positioned himself as a tall beacon of light by waging a long struggle in the freedom movement launched against subjugation.

Chandio said that Quaid-i-Azam had taught us to follow the democratic norms as he himself led a life replete with untiring struggle within the confines of law and Constitution. “He held that a sound democratic system based upon public aspirations could guarantee solidarity, prosperity and stability of Pakistan,” Information Adviser added that the young generation had always been the centre of expectation for Quaid-i-Azam. “There can be no better tribute to the founding father than by making Pakistan a prosperous, stable and eminent,” he said.

Chandio prayed to Almighty Allah to enable us to serve the dear motherland with Quaid’s cherished principles and ideals. Chandio further said that today we bow down in respect to the great leader of the Subcontinent who made history by carving out a new state on the map of the world by the strength of his wisdom, steadfastness, righteousness and statesmanship.

Meanwhile, on the joyous day of Christmas, Chandio wished merry Christmas to Christian brethren in Pakistan and all over the world.
