ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA in the National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb Tuesday asked the government to take the issue of gas loadshedding seriously, as it had led to an increase in the divorce rate. The MNA highlighted the issue of gas loadshedding in the country and explained to the House that the problem had increased the ratio of divorces.

“When husbands get back home from their jobs and don’t get meal on time they quarrel with their wives.

This has become a routine and sometime it reaches the peak leading to divorce. What kind of message we are giving to our future generation,” she asked. Tahira said she daily received phone calls from her constituency about the gas load shedding but she had no solution to the problem.

“It’s time that minister for petroleum had given an explanation to this House on the gas load shedding, as we have to give attention to the issues of the people,” she added. She also said the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline project should not put in the cold storage.
