This refers to the article, ‘Horror in the Middle East’ (Nov 2), by Belen Fernandez. The writer has drawn a comparison between Halloween celebrated in the West and the war-torn places of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. Air strikes, missiles, bombs and bullets have added horrors to the lives of the people.
The US has taken the responsibility to introduce democracy in these regions but bringing democracy through mass destruction is not the right way.
