The CPEC is a corridor of opportunities. Fifty one billion dollars is the biggest overseas investment incurred by China as a step to finish its One Belt One Road project. This has allowed the inflow of the largest foreign direct investment in Pakistan. The mega project will connect Xinjiang, the biggest province of China, to Europe and Central Asia though the Gwadar Port. This will not only benefit China and Pakistan but all of the South Asian region too.
Pakistan is a developing country and faces a scarcity of capital resource. Projects like the CPEC are rewarding the country with intense capital inflows because of its strategic location. In addition to this, more than 700,000 direct jobs between 2015 and 2030 are expected to be created because of this project. The CPEC is important for national development and will not only strengthen the Pak-China 50 year friendship but will also open new avenues of trade and investment.
