BARA: One soldier was killed and three others sustained injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency, official sources said on Friday.
They said security forces were on a routine patrol in the Sandana area in Tirah when the IED planted by the militants on the road went off.
The officials said that four soldiers were injured in the blast and were taken to hospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries. The injured soldiers were identified as Sattar, Zafar and Saqib.
It may be recalled that security forces carried out the Operation Khyber-1 and Khyber-2 against the outlawed Lashkar-i-Islam and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to flush out the militants from Bara and Tirah Valley in the Khyber tribal region.
