PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has summoned the Advocate General (AG), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asking him to assist the court on law points raised in various constitutional writ petitions challenging the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission Act, 2014.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Musarrat Hilali summoned the AG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the court on November 10, the next hearing of the case.
A former PTI provincial minister Ziaullah Afridi, director general Mines and Mineral Dr Liaqat Ali, secretary Industries Sajid Jadoon, former TMO Noor Daraz Khattak, former provincial minister Liaqat Shabab and others have challenged the KP Ehtesab Act in the high court.
The petitioners’ lawyers including Aminur Rehman, Qazi Jawad Ihsanullah, Muhammad Ayaz Khan, Barrister Mudasir Ameer, Amir Javed and Fida Gul appeared in the court and questioned the formation of the Ehtesab law.
