In a land dominated by misogyny and mayhem, it’s always refreshing to see women supporting each other.

Recently, one of Pakistan’s most cherished artists, Meesha Shafi, threw her weight behind one Momina Mustehsan when she was “criticized” for looking like a maid. Shafi’s response to Mustehsan on the issue certainly summed up the times we live in. “The bigger you get, the more thick skinned you have to be. Keep shining!” she wrote on Twitter.

Now, we’re seeing Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner speak up in favour of Emma Watson after The Sunpublished an editorial attacking Watson’s contribution to the fight for gender equality, in which she addressed issues of sexual assault that take place on college campuses, adding that college should be a safe space for learning.

Rod Liddle, associate editor ofThe Spectator, wrote an article attacking Watson’s speech at the United Nations as “rigid with whining, leftie, PC crap”. It also included the term “luvvie slebs,” the meaning of which is not clear at the moment. But it doesn’t matter because judging by the tone of the rest of the column took, it bordered on hysteria of the wrong kind. Thankfully, Liddle got a taste of his own medicine when Turner took to Twitter and said on the issue: “Rod Liddle .. m8. Emma has more class, intelligence & eloquence in her little finger than you have in ya whole body.” Point, Turner.
