PESHAWAR: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt-Gen. Asim Bajwa has stated that armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any situation at Eastern border (border with India).
Briefing the media on steps taken for border management by the armed forces here Tuesday, General Bajwa while referring to Indian threats, said, “We are closely monitoring developments at the Eastern border and fully prepared to respond to incident (aggression).”
“Hurling accusations of Uri attack on Pakistan without any evidence is regrettable,” he said.
DG ISPR added, “Pakistan has always acted with great responsibility.”
Operation Zarb-e-Azb
The military spokesman said main operations of Operation Zarb-e-Azb have been completed.
He said the deadline for return of TDPs is November and 70 percent work on this matter has been completed, adding that all efforts would be made in rehabilitation of TDPs.
On the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), Asim Bajwa said, it requires hard work. He added that deliberations are being made at the top level to ensure implementation on NAP in letter and spirit.
Over 1470 combing operations were carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, he said and added that security situation has improved across the country owing to these operations.
Border Management with Afghanistan
Pakistani security forces have cleared Rajgal mountains of militants, he said and added that we are in complete control of the Pak-Afghan border area.
The general went on to say that security posts are being built along the border in Rajgal and Pak Army is present in the valley. “Work over 20 posts for border management has been completed and personnel of security forces have been deployed there.”
Bajwa said the attack in Christian colony in Warsak was planned in Afghanistan. Four terrorists entered the colony where they were controlled by the guard. He added the attackers were facilitated by four abettors.
Later, the arrested militants were presented before the media.
