I want to draw the attention of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s food department authorities towards the district food officers and food inspectors. The main problem is that these people are not specialists in this field. There are many departments of food science and technology in KP universities and many students graduate in the subject of food science. My point is that if we have food technologists then why don’t we hire them as district food officers or food inspectors?
Our food department authorities seem to be unaware of food technologists. The Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan food departments are much better than us because their selection criteria for district food officers and food inspectors is that the candidates must have graduated in food science. Most of our food technologists go to Saudi Arabia and UAE. Our government does not give opportunities to them. We need to change the selection criteria for district food officers and food inspectors.
