This refers to the article, ‘Bikinis and burkinis’ (August 26) by Imaan Mazari-Hazir. The writer has very well articulated the feelings of so many people who are appalled at the French state’s attitude towards Muslim women’s clothing.
We understand that secularism is close to the French nature but that does not translate into discrimination and racist laws sanctioned by state officials. It is a good sign that the highest court in France has decided to strike down these bans.
