PML-N to be defeated in LG polls: Bilawal

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that there would be no reconciliation now and the party would pose severe resistance to the opponent parties in its future line of action and PPP would inflict heavy defeat on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the upcoming local government (LG) elections.
Addressing the Farmers Convention at the Bilawal House here, he said that the final victory would be of the people.
Bilawal Bhutto said that his party would destroy ruling PML-N in the LG elections and added that the PPP was part of the struggle to strengthen democracy.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the party stalwarts to gear up for a combat and should not let anyone usurp the rights of the poor people and farmers of Punjab.
Addressing a gathering of the PPP office-bearers from two districts of Southern Punjab including Lohdran and Vehari, he urged the party workers and activists not to lose heart and utilise all their abilities to stage a comeback.
Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, President PPP Southern Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmud, former MNAs Natasha Daultana, Tochi Khan, former MPAs Shaukat Mehmood Basra, Nowsher Langrial and senior leader Haider Zaman Qureshi were also present on the occasion.
The PPP ‘jayalas’ on the occasion also shouted slogans to end reconciliation or compromise with the PML-N and sources stated some of them even urged Bilawal to ‘destroy’ the Nawaz League in election arena.
Bilawal said that he was aware of the grievances of party workers. He stated that political parties did face testing times but due to the commitment of their workers, they regained their lost strength, adding he would continue to remain in contact with the ‘jayalas’ who were the real asset of the party. “Victory will belong to the people of Pakistan,” said Bilawal.
He stated that PPP supported the farmers and fully endorsed their just demands. For them, he said the PPP was ready to take to streets

and would move court against the imposition of withholding tax after consulting the party members. He also said that the party would also organise Kissan conventions to express solidarity with growers of Punjab.
The PPP chairman once again called for immediate resignation of the controversial members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Outside the Bilawal House, while talking to media, Hyder Zaman Qureshi, the senior leader of the party stated that Bilawal Bhutto had conveyed a categorical message to Nawaz League that there was no more reconciliation and in local government polls, the PPP would demolish the PML-N.
Shaukat Basra, another senior leader of the PPP Southern Punjab while talking to media said the party members had reposed their trust in the chairman and were ready to contest the rival parties in the election.
