Documentary on Coke Studio origin showcased at TFSA 2016

After multiple screenings across the globe, award-winning music documentary based on the origin story of Coke Studio, The Journey Within was screened in New Delhi, India under Travelling Film SouthAsia (TFSA) 2016 that began yesterday. The film won Silver Remi Award at WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, 2016, USA and was honoured with Best of Fest trophy at Full Bloom Film Festival 2015, USA.

After multiple screenings across the globe, award-winning music documentary based on the origin story of Coke Studio, The Journey Within was screened in New Delhi, India under Travelling Film SouthAsia (TFSA) 2016 that began yesterday. The film won Silver Remi Award at WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, 2016, USA and was honoured with Best of Fest trophy at Full Bloom Film Festival 2015, USA.

Produced and directed by Mian Adnan Ahmad, the documentary takes into account the “inspirational journey of a music show to help reclaim the rich and vast musical heritage of Pakistan post 9/11 that brings together unique talents of various cultural backgrounds and genres including, but not limited to, folk, Sufi, rock, pop and rap music”.

The film stars Kamran ‘Mannu’ Zafar, Asad Ahmed, Fareed Ayaz, Arieb Azhar,
Meesha Shafi and Zeb Bangash, among notable others.

TFSA is a four-day festival (August 17- 20) that will showcase 10 outstanding documentaries from South Asian countries like Burma, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka made in the last two years. According to the organizers, “The festival includes the award winners of Film South Asia Festival 2015, Kathmandu, as well as other films selected to showcase the variety, treatment and intensity that marks the world of South Asian documentary and non-fiction.”
