Fridays of mercy

It is good to know that Pope Francis has initiated unscheduled visits, once a month on Friday, to many places as an act of mercy where he listens to people’s grievances. So far he has visited a home for the elderly, a community for drug addicts, a refugee centre, asylum seekers, sick children, victims of the Holocaust and rescued sex slaves.

Our rulers should also spare some time for the downtrodden of society. The prime minister, and all chief ministers and governors should pay surprise visits to public places to take stoke of the people’s problems.
