Russell Brand’s rape & assault case begins in London court

Russell Brand, former actor and comedian has finally made his way to London’s Southwark Crown Court for the start of his rape and sexual assault trail.

Currently he stands accused of three counts of rape, three charges of sexual assault, and one allegation of indecent assault.

The only thing known as of yet is that the case could last for 10 weeks at most, and the Hollywood Reporter just also just confirmed the heavy presence of media around the venue.

The counts he’s being tried over all happened between the years, 1999 to 2009 and have been vehemently denied since they began popping up.

The most high profile allegations though happened via Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times and one woman is said to have told Dispatches that Brand began a relationship with her when she was only 16 (at the time he was 31). Per her claims the relationship lasted no more than three months and throughout that time Brand had allegedly been “emotionally abusive and controlling.”

Another woman has spoken out too, but her claims were far less detailed and claimed Brand raped her in 2012 in his L.A. home.
