Anthropic warned that the government stance toward the company and its technology could have a broader operational footprint including its commercial ecosystem and its relationship with customers and partners.
While companies frequently caution that regulatory shifts may impact operations particularly government contractors. SpaceX said in its IPO filing that fostering strong relationships with US government agencies is crucial to its businesses and warned that any strain in those relationships could harm its ability to retain and cultivate new client relationships.
The filing cautioned that advanced AI could pose existential risks to humanity-a profit warning by a company planning an IPO could be valued at $2 trillion testing its ability to recognize the value of new information.
The company has become the focal point of risk anxiety carried by the rapid advancement, fierce global AI competition and tight regulatory oversight. The broad question of AI has come to attention with Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei calling for the industry to slow its development.
The filing earlier said in February the president ordered federal agencies to stop using the company’s models.
The Commerce Department later eased those constraints and Anthropic redeployed the models with the company warning that similar actions could occur in the future. These kinds of measures could result in major reputational harm and deter prospective customers, prospective consequences notwithstanding.
