X likely to plan new four-tier Grok subscription
SpaceXAI is weighing a four-tier X Premium lineup, from free to $100 Ultra, per a Bloomberg report
The "cheaper" X verified badge might not be cheaper at all. The new $8 Lite plan would cost the same as Premium, the tier that already gets you a blue checkmark. What's changing is the bundle around it.
SpaceXAI is considering merging X and Grok subscriptions into four tiers, according to an internal document Bloomberg viewed. The ladder would start with a free plan that has tighter Grok usage limits. It would end at a $100-per-month Ultra plan for power users.
Nothing is official. SpaceXAI didn't respond to Bloomberg's request for comment.
Lite is rumoured to provide Grok access, a blue checkmark and fewer advertisements. This is exactly what is provided by Premium for the same cost.
Currently, the pricing on the website for X is Basic priced at $3, Premium priced at $8 and Premium+ priced at $40. The two plans with the checkmarks are Premium and Premium+. The other features that are included in Premium+ are SuperGrok, Grok Bot and ad-lite feed.
Ultra would come with Grok Bot, which is an agent that can do things for you from SpaceXAI. Bloomberg hasn’t explained the fourth tier as well as which Grok limitations apply.
ChatGPT is charging $500 per month from OpenAI; hence, Ultra will fall short of the market cap.
X has repeatedly repriced as Grok moved to the centre of the product. Premium+ jumped to $40 a month after the Grok 3 launch in 2025, up from $22.
