2 killed, 2 injured after pedestrians struck at Tsawwassen Mills

Two people have died and two others were injured after a vehicle struck four pedestrians in the parking lot of Tsawwassen Mills on Wednesday morning, Delta Police say.

The serious collision happened at approximately 10:25 AM. Police said preliminary information suggests the driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash.

Four pedestrians were struck, and two died from their injuries, while the other two were treated at the scene by BC Emergency Health Services and taken to hospital.

"Our thoughts are with the families, loved ones, and all those affected by this tragic incident," Delta Police said in a statement.

Police said the collision was not connected to the Truth and Reconciliation Walk taking place on Tsawwassen First Nation lands at the time.

"There is no ongoing risk to public safety," police said.

Tsawwassen First Nation said emergency responders remained at the scene and asked the public to avoid the area.

"Out of respect for Tsawwassen First Nation families and ongoing response efforts, we will not be providing additional details at this time. Further information will be shared when appropriate,” TFN said.

Police said the investigation remains in its early stages and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact investigators.
