Kim Kardashian reacts to California ‘Hug Act’

Kim Kardashian has questioned the logic behind incarceration of children after it was reported that a newly passed law will give incarcerated California kids the right to hug their loved ones.

“Why do we even incarcerate kids at all,” asked Kim Kardashian in her Instagram Story.

She was reacting to a report that incarcerated children in the state of California are the first in America to be given "the right to hug," according to the co-sponsor of a newly-passed bill regarding juvenile visitation procedures.

AB 1646, known simply as the "Hug Act," now gives youth confined in a juvenile facility the right to engage in "certain types of consensual physical contact with visitors" during in-person visits.

This includes hugging, holding hands and any contact not deemed an immediate safety threat to the juvenile inmate or the individual visiting them.
