Demi Moore reveals the biggest lesson her three daughters taught her

Demi Moore says her three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Willis, didn't just make her a mom. They rewired how she sees herself.

Speaking at Step Up's 2026 Annual Inspiration Awards in LA on Friday, the 63-year-old Substance star sat down with Ali Larter and got candid about the lesson that changed everything.

"I think that the greatest gift that they have given me is a foundation of love," she said.

It's a lesson she never got growing up. Moore has shared that her own childhood was chaotic.

Moore has explained that her own childhood was far from stable—something she detailed in her memoir, Inside Out, revealing her parents struggled with alcoholism and frequently relocated the family to avoid debt collectors.

Against that backdrop, she said her daughters' acceptance of her has meant everything. "Being able to have my children see and accept me for who I am, they are, as always, our greatest teachers, our biggest challenges, dare I say," she said. "But I think that's it."

Moore's bond with her daughters also faced strain at one point when she divorced Ashton Kutcher, a difficult period the actresswrote about candidly in her memoir. Since then, the family has worked through their issues and grown closer.
