Princess Diana’s brother is facing backlash for his book on his sister
American actress Melanie Griffith has emerged as an admirer of King Charles, Queen Camilla and the British Royal Family.
She was seen praising the monarch and his wife on social media during their recent public appearances.
Commenting on the King Charles and Queen Camilla’s farewell message on Instagram, the mother of Dakota Johnson had called them “Elegant, Charming and heartwarming.”
She was later observed engaging with Royal Family’s social media posts in a sign of her admiration for the Windsors.
However, in the ongoing feud between King Charles and his former brother-in-law Charles Spencer, the US actress has appeared sympathetic towards Diana's younger brother.
Charles Spencer's memoir "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister" published on Tuesday, nearly 30 years after Princess Diana's death, contains a series of allegations about his sister's former marriage to Britain's King Charles and the aftermath of her death.
Buckingham Palace took the unusual step to dispute Spencer's account.
In his book Spencer wrote that the then-Prince Charles had told him “We’ll forget her soon enough" during an angry phone call after Diana's death, following what he said had been a disagreement over whether her sons Princes William and Harry should walk behind their mother's coffin.
Diana’s brother is now facing severe backlash from the British tabloid media and supporters of the royal family.
Notably, Melanie Griffith was among thousands to like an People magazine’s Instagram article quoting Spencer as saying: "I feel Diana on my side."
