Ryan Murphy gives positive update on upcoming ‘Glee’ script: ‘very enthusiastic’

Ryan Murphy has "finished the script" for a Glee revival.

The 60-year-old co-creator of the beloved musical series, which originally aired from 2009 to 2015, has given a massive update on a potential return after working on a script with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

He told Entertainment Tonight, "Well, funny you ask, because I just finished the script an hour ago.

"We have a script. Brad, Ian and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something,” he added.

Ryan, who is returning this week with season 13 of American Horror Story, revealed he has been in touch with some original Glee cast members about reprising their roles.

He told the outlet, "I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members, and it’s very sweet. They’ve all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”

Speaking of the reboot, Murphy also noted that although there is a script, “nobody’s read it.” “So, I don’t know, we’ll see,” he continued. “I vowed to myself that I wanted to write a couple of them to see what people think, particularly the cast, ’cause we were very close when we were making it.”

This news comes just a week after Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry for all six seasons of the musical comedy, said that she’d be happy to return for a reboot.

Speaking with E! News, she said, “I love Glee. I will always love Glee. I love Ryan Murphy. It just holds such a special place in my heart for me… I will follow Ryan wherever he goes.”

The official plotline of Glee is about “ an optimistic high-school teacher tries to transform the school's show choir club by roping in a group of misfit students to participate in it and compete in a challenge.”
