Naked Eyes singer Peter Byrne breathes his last at 74

Peter Byrne, the lead singer of '80s new-wave band Naked Eyes, has passed away at the age of 74.

Naked Eyes announced the news of the musician's passing on its official website. According to a released statement, Peter "died peacefully in Los Angeles on September 14" following a "brief illness."

However, the cause of the singer's death has not yet been disclosed.

For those unaware, Peterfounded his beloved band back in 1982 alongside the late singer Rob Fisher.

Their famous songs include 1983's Always Something There to Remind Me and 1984's Promises, Promises.

As the heartbreaking news of Peter's death broke out, fans took to social media to express their sadness over the death of the iconic singer.

“I hope Pete had some great final chapters to his life! Naked Eyes still tracks in several of my playlists today," one person penned on X.

Another chimed in, “The sheer amount of strong British vocalists fronting bands in the early-mid ’80s was quite impressive.”

“This one hurts," confessed a third one.

“A legend indeed. RIP," commented a fourth one.

In 1984, Peter announced his departure fromNaked Eyes following the release of the group's second album, Feul For The Fire.

The musician dropped his first solo album, titled The Real Illusion, in 2001.
