Palace has also released statement after Earl Spencer remarks

Angela Levin, a royal expert and major critic of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has shared the remarks of King Charles aide amid monarch’s war of words with Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter handle, Angela tweeted the remarks of the insiders from The Times.

She tweeted, “From The Times, spoken by aide.”

King Charles aide tells the outlet, “Charles was "saddened that the sorrows of old are being dragged up again...The King was rather more concerned about the future of mankind than the unkind claims of one man picking at the scars of the past.”

The publication reported, “Hypocrite Earl Spencer is peddling Diana’s privacy, say King’s allies”

The insiders around King Charles have hit back at the ‘much-married’ earl, saying he once lectured the media for ‘hounding’ his sister.

“Ultimately for all the claim and counterclaim, I suspect most people in the real world either don't care about the whole thing or, if they do, they will make up their own minds about the minds and morality of a much-married man like Charles Spencer,” the aide went on saying.

“And they will see a King and a Queen simply getting on with the job in tough times, because ultimately that's what really matters."

Earl Spencer has made headlines around the world in the last week after his book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, was serialised in the Daily Mail.

He accused Diana’s former husband, the now King Charles, of sounding "giddily elated" in the hours after her death.

The palace reacted to the claims saying the king "is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss".
