Why Carrot Top attempted suicide?

Carrot Top was allegedly asked to pay $500,000 by singer Brian Evans or else his sexually explicit recording would get leaked, according to claims made by the comedian’s lawyer.

The comedian, 61, born Scott Thompson, was rushed to the hospital on Friday after an apparent suicide attempt hours before a scheduled show in Las Vegas.

For those unaware,Carrot Top was accused of sexual exploitation by Brian Evans in a lawsuit filed in July 2026.

Now, Daily Mail has obtained a court filing submitted on September 3 in which Carrot Top's lawyers claimed Evans threatened Thompson to share sexually explicit material involving the comedian to a court unless the comedian paid $500,000.

In an email to Thompson’s lawyer, Evans did not explain what the recording contained and said it was “not a threat.”

Evans further said he did “not control the public docket” or “the press,” while asking for $500,000 in “immediately available funds” for “resolution of all claims against Scott Thompson....”

Thompson’s legal team called the message a “malicious threat” and said, “This is not settlement communication.”

On the contrary, Evans, speaking directly to the outlet, denied the allegations, saying “I never threatened - ever - to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement.”

He remarked it is “not the black and white story portrayed.”

As for Carrot's Top health update, his rep Jami Schlicher, said Thompson “is currently recovering, surrounded by his family and those closest to him” and asked for privacy.
