Keke Palmer recalls ‘horrified’ moment as new mom

Keke Palmer opened up about her son’s first illness

The actress shares three-year-old son Leodis Andrellton with her former boyfriend Darius Jackson.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, Palmer looked back at the overwhelming emotions she felt when her son first became sick as a kid, the Nope star said, “I was horrified.”

She went on to say, “It’s a feeling that can come back to you so quickly.”

“This is the first time that you’ve ever loved somebody like this, and they’re so helpless in this situation,” Palmer added.

Furthermore, she reflected on the new responsibilities of becoming a parent, saying, “Every millennial now that’s a parent is like, ‘I’m the new adult? What do you mean I’m the one who has to make these extreme decisions about somebody’s life — somebody that I love so much?’ “

Palmer also opened up about the support which she received from her parents, stating, “My parents are a huge support to me, and they are always helping me stay informed.”

Noting, “They tell me what they did, but they also empower me [to figure it out on my own].”

Palmer shared why she chose Beyfortus which is “a preventive antibody that protects babies born during or entering their first RSV season against serious RSV lung infection,” during her son’s first RSV season.

“Obviously, like any mother, you’re scared and you want to figure out the best way to help your baby, and I realized that it was the best thing for me and for Leo, to help protect him against the serious lung infections that can be caused by RSV,” Palmer shared.

It is pertinent to mention that the actress provided her voice for the animated film, The Angry Bird 3 which is set to be released on December 23, 2026.
