Ed Sheeran's cousin exposes 'selfish' singer after Macklemore firing: 'He screwed me over too'

Ed Sheeran is facing sharp criticism from an unexpected source: his own cousin.
Jethro Sheeran took to Instagram Thursday, calling the singer "selfish" and "malicious" amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Macklemore's removal from Sheeran's Loop Tour.
“Finally it’s all coming out! I’m ashamed of my cousin Ed he’s done. Finally the world and all his fans see through him. He’s not a good person, I don’t like his music so I can’t say he’s even a good artist,” Jethro began.
In his post, Jethro claimed he was ashamed of his cousin, alleging that Sheeran mistreated him personally in the past.
“He’s honestly a selfish individual with malicious, cunning ways… I’m his first blood cousin and he screwed me over, made fun of my mental health and mental health in general.”
“In my opinion he’s a bad human. Just my opinion from my experiences,” he continued.
He also pushed back on Macklemore's earlier claim that Sheeran had been pressured by stadium owners to drop him from the tour, suggesting instead that he believes Sheeran made that decision himself.
“He puts out [a] fake narrative that’s calculated just to keep everyone happy so he can do big private gigs and keep brand deals etc. I agree with all the comments he’s got and [the] bad press.
“Beware that he’s very calculated and cruel. That’s my honest opinion and I’m family!!” he added on a concluding note.
The comments follow days of backlash after Macklemore was removed from Sheeran's tour following an onstage moment where he shouted "Free Palestine."
Macklemore later said he believed New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft pressured Sheeran and other stadium operators into giving him an "ultimatum" over the incident.
Sheeran denied having direct involvement in the decision and said the call came from the tour's promoter rather than himself.
In solidarity with Macklemore, several other opening acts, including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga, exited the tour. Some fans have since sought refunds through Ticketmaster in response to the situation.
Macklemore has since pledged to donate the $1 million he earned from the tour to Palestinian aid organizations.
After the publish backlash, Kraft responded by pledging $2 million toward humanitarian relief efforts in the region and expressed willingness to speaking directly with Macklemore about their differing views.
