Shailene Woodley’s stylist fires back at ongoing backlash over actress's Emmy look

Shailene Woodley’s stylist, Karla Welch, has finally broken her silence on ongoing criticism surrounding her look for the 2026 Emmy Awards.

For those unaware, the 34-year-old American actress illuminated the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14 with her appearance in a low-cut Balenciaga top paired with bedazzled pants.

She complemented her look with over-the-elbow maroon leather gloves and a rainbow stone necklace.

Notably, her different style did not sit well with people and many dropped extreme remarks, asking her to “fire” her costume designer.

Responding to the ongoing backlash on Threads on Wednesday, September 16, Welch wrote, “Love or hate something fine but it's an opinion.”

“It can even be a conversation but being super rude and mean and taking glee from it, well that says a lot more about the mouths it's coming from,” the 52-year-old added.

It is pertinent to mention that Welch has been styling a great number of top-notch Hollywood celebrities, such as Olivia Wilde, Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber, Sarah Paulson, and Karlie Kloss.
