King Charles reminds public his younger son does not deserve protocol
King Charles has openly shown Prince Harry his place with latest move.
His Majesty, who released a letter speaking about Prince Harry’s status as a private citizen in the UK, wanted to reiterate his younger son of the formerly made choices.
Writing in the i newspaper, Royal expert Jennie Bond suggested: "[Charles'] letter clarifying that they are not part of "The Firm" - the working royals - and should not be regarded as such carried quite a sting.
"Nothing, the Palace insisted, had changed. But, in truth, it had. The King had publicly flexed his muscles and decreed how his younger son should be treated: no bells, whistles, curtseys or any other show of royal flummery,” she said.
Prince Harry left the Royal Family back in 2020 alongside wife Meghan Markle and son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showcasing racism towards their son and publicly shared their grievances on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
