Stephen Colbert debuts bold new look at the 2026 Emmy Awards
Stephen Colbert's new bold look is "all AI," joked the host as he debuted his new facial hair.
On Monday, The Late Show host walked down the red carpet of the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards sporting his full grey goatee and described his new appearance as "a beard-bot".
When E! News asked the 62-year-old TV personality about his facial hair, Stephen joked, "This is all AI."
"This isn't actually on my face. This could transform at any moment into a robot or something," he continued hysterically.
Stephen even gave his new look a name, "beard-bot."
He added, "I've got to deal with Michael Bay and Gillette."
Stephen's joke suggested that he was genuinely happy after his third Emmy win as the host took home the award for Outstanding Variety Series, his third Emmy so far as The Late Show’s host.
This came months after The Late Show came to an end on CBS in May 2026.
When asked about his return to late-night TV, he played down the idea.
Referencing fellow late-night show hosts, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, he teased, "I think the Jimmys have got that locked down for right now. But thank you for the invitation."
