Oprah Winfrey brings new immersive live experience to Las Vegas

Oprah Winfrey is launching a new live show at Las Vegas Sphere.

The 72-year-old media icon will debut "Oprah Winfrey's AHA," a two-hour show combining music, film, and sensory effects, at the Sphere this coming April.

Oprah told People this show brings together everything she's tried to say over her whole career. "It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in a way that allows you to feel connected to yourself, but also to everybody else who's there," she said.

The idea came to her after she watched U2 open the Sphere back in 2023. She said the experience amazed her. The venue has huge speakers, seats that move, and even smells that match what's happening on screen.

"When you’re inside the Sphere, it’s like being under this dome that isn’t a dome, but it’s like a window. There are 160,000 speakers, and movement in the seats and your olfactory senses are being affected. If you’re looking at the beach, you can smell the beach.

She said at one point she didn't even know what she was feeling anymore, it was so much all at once. She called that night her "aha moment," and it helped her come up with the idea for her own show.

Oprah has also talked about how turning 70 changed the way she sees life. She said she now feels a sense of urgency to live fully, and she's at peace knowing she has less time left than before.

"There is a sense of knowing that there isn’t as much time left and I am at peace with that knowing. There’s a sense of urgency for me about living well."

She also said getting knee surgery in 2021 was a turning point for her. Before the surgery, she said even walking a few steps was hard. Her doctor told her plainly that she needed the surgery if she wanted to keep being able to walk.
