Roger Moore’s son Geoffrey hints at shocking changes in 'James Bond' franchise

Roger Moore’s son Geoffrey has opposed the idea of a female star playing OO7, as the franchise seems ready to announce the iconic character.

For those unaware, Roger played the famous British secret service agent James Bond in seven official films from 1973 to 1985.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Geoffrey stated that the fans-favourite franchise should carry on its well-established legacy.

He told the outlet that producer Barbara Broccoli and Amazon must make the correct call, saying, “I would go back to the beginning. Bond liked to drink and he was a marksman, you know.”

Notably, 007 has been played by male actors since its inception, which has raised several questions, and many criticized it for being misogynistic and s*xist, as no female actress was ever considered for the role.

Geoffrey opposed the idea of a female James Bond but he said that if the creators decide to experiment this time, “then call her Jemima.”

“I think a female Bond - a 00-whatever should have her own story,” the 60-year-old actor stated, referring to Charlize Theron's portrayal of Lorraine Broughton in 2017’s Atomic Bond.

Geoffrey, who believes women are smarter than men, added, “Jemima's own story [could be] she's actually smarter and - there'd be a lot more bickering - but less wars and less fighting. I think it could be an elegant one.”

It is pertinent to mention that Daniel Craig left the 007 franchise after the release of his final film, No Time to Die in 2021. Now the forthcoming film with the temporary title Bond 26 is currently under development, while the lead actor has yet to be selected.
