Google Drive beta programme is here: How to join

If you've ever wished you could peek at Google Drive's next update before everyone else, that wish just came true. Google has quietly switched on a public beta program for the Drive app on Android, and you can sign up in minutes.

A "Join the beta" card has started appearing on Google Drive's Play Store listing, the same enrolment prompt that Google already uses for apps like Gmail, Photos, and Maps. Until now, Drive was one of the few major Google apps missing this option. That gap has closed.

How to join the Google Drive Beta on Android?

Accessing the programme does not need any invitation or waitlist. You simply open the Google Drive application listing at the Play Store, go to the "Join the beta" card and click on Join. The enrolment process is usually completed within a few minutes, after which your app will be updated to the beta version.

Being a tester does not mean that you will get to experience all the experimental features available since there are always new features tested out by Google on the beta build. Some of the recent features that Google has been testing in beta include the timestamp video comments on Drive.

For most, Drive is a utility running in the background. This beta version, however, adds a twist to the situation.
