Jack Osbourne and wife reveal the one thing missing from their parenting routine

Jack Osbourne and wife Aree don't rely on nannies for the upbringing of their kids.

The 40-year-old dad of five and his wife, Aree, opened up about their hands-on approach to raising their two young daughters, Maple, 4, and Ozzy, 6 months, in their latest chat with the press as they attended Emmy Nominees Night in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Jack, who also has three older children from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly, told People at the pre-Emmy event that the couple discussed the transition of welcoming baby Ozzy, who was named after Jack's father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this year.

“I think we did okay. I don’t feel overly overwhelmed, I guess.” Jack then agreed with his wife, revealing, “Yeah, and we’re kind of gnarly in the sense that we don’t have a nanny.”

Are, 35, said she hasn't felt overly overwhelmed juggling the family's needs and described herself as a "fulltime stay-at-home mom," to which Jack agreed, noting that the two of them handle child care without outside help.

“Yeah. So we don’t do the nanny thing, and so I thought it was going to be way gnarlier than it is, but you find a rhythm.”

The pair also shared a sweet update on daughter Maple's first day of preschool earlier in the week, saying it went smoothly and tear-free, with Maple seemingly eager to head off on her own.

“It was great. Yeah. There were no tears,” Jack said of the big day, while Aree said, “Yeah, it was kind of like, ‘Bye, get out of here.’”

As for baby Ozzy, Aree said, “she’s doing great. She’s the best. She’s the happiest little thing.”

Jack and Aree went public with their relationship in 2019, got engaged in 2021, and married in September 2023.
